Honoring a Legacy, A Tribute to Julie Garber
The NAIC honors Julie Garber, NAIC Senior Accreditation Manager. Garber passed away on February 5th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She had worked at the NAIC since 2002 and will be missed by her many friends and colleagues in the insurance community.
The Accreditation F Committee has chosen to honor Garber by dedicating the accreditation manual to her. Starting with the 2019 version, the first page of the manual will contain the tribute which reads:
The Accreditation Program Manual is dedicated to Julie Garber, Senior Accreditation Manager of the NAIC from 2002 to 2018. Ms. Garber’s tireless dedication to the accreditation program has been instrumental in making it a foundational element for state-based regulation. Under her leadership and direction, all 50 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico have been accredited during her service. The legacy of Ms. Garber’s contributions to the accreditation program will forever be remembered. As the architect of this manual, it is only fitting that it be dedicated to her. Ms. Garber’s fearless spirit, as well as her love for people, life and work have helped shape the accreditation program and everyone around her.
